About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and manage assigned claims
- Facilitate communication, documentation, and understanding between insureds, adjusters, and other involved parties
- Manage a diary of assigned claims
- Use Applied EPIC to review claim status
- Build relationships with clients to facilitate claims management
- Assist with disputed claim resolutions when applicable
- Ensure timely follow-up on requests
- Communicate with assigned adjusters to progress claims toward resolution
- Educate insureds on state-specific regulations and mitigation programs
- Prepare and provide claim-tracking information
- Identify coverage trends or gaps and relay them to the Account Management team
- Participate in claims reviews with producers, clients, and service department personnel
- Provide claims-process education to agency and client personnel
- Identify process improvements and workflow enhancements and recommend changes
- Review insurance-company documents for accuracy
- Maintain familiarity with state-specific workers’ compensation regulations
- Research and support mitigation programs for workers’ compensation claims when applicable
- Mentor less experienced Advocates by providing guidance, training, and technical support
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in an insurance role with applicable claims coverages
- Knowledge of Property & Casualty forms and relevant coverages for proper claims reporting and analysis
- Experience handling worker’s compensation claims required (when applicable)
- Active Property and Casualty license required; company will help candidate obtain licensure if needed
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Applied Epic experience preferred, or knowledge of a similar Account Management System (AMS) is acceptable
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens
- Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person
- Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, and 10-key
- Ability to walk, bend, sit, reach, and stretch in all directions
