About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the end-to-end invoicing process, including billing schedules, invoices, AR aging, and collections documentation
Lead accounts receivable collections, escalations, dispute resolution, and payment plan negotiations
Resolve customer and payment inquiries, including account statements, payment history, and withholding tax forms
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Legal on contract setup and billing
Support customer onboarding by establishing accurate billing information and payment terms
Support revenue recognition under ASC 606, focusing on consumption-based revenue recognition
Drive month-end close deliverables, including journal entries, revenue and related reconciliations, and flux analysis
Support audit readiness and the company's first-year financial audit by preparing schedules and documentation and responding to auditor requests
Identify opportunities to automate and improve billing, collections, and cash application workflows
Help develop policies, documentation, and internal controls
Contribute to finance systems optimization and reporting improvements
Take on ad-hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting in a SaaS or technology company
Strong understanding of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition concepts
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite and revenue automation tools such as Stripe, HubiFi, or Zuora
Experience with AI, cloud infrastructure, consumption-based pricing, or usage-based billing models
Comfortable using AI-powered tools such as Claude; willingness to learn and adopt new tools
Experience improving accounting processes and implementing automation
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate
Able to work in the San Francisco office at least 3 days per week
Must be available during agreed working hours and maintain sufficient overlap with the relevant team's time zone
