About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Solicit and become familiar with accounts in the assigned market segment
- Prospect and close assigned accounts and territories to increase hotel revenues
- Support Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach and The Royal Lahaina Resort in Maui
- Conduct professional hotel site inspections with clients
- Develop working knowledge of hotel operations, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations
- Develop and execute outside sales calls, industry trade shows, and customer events
- Research, solicit, and generate new business leads through database research and proactive sales efforts
- Monitor top-account production and market trends
- Maintain regular contact with existing accounts through the Account Coverage Program
- Invite clients for entertainment, lunches, tours, and site inspections
- Manage and negotiate sales transactions through successful closings
- Use the computerized sales management system to generate reports, enter business, block space, and build accounts
- Attend Highgate Hotel Business Review meetings and required hotel meetings and trainings
- Operate within the established sales expense budget
- Participate in scheduled M.O.D. and office coverage
- Prepare required reports and complete month-end account production tracking
- Develop networking opportunities through community and professional associations
- Review meeting planner evaluations and ensure follow-up on issues
- Meet or exceed sales and lead-generation goals
- Maintain high standards of guest and employee service, appearance, confidentiality, and hotel safety
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 3 years of progressive hotel group sales experience
- Role must be remote in AZ or TX; requires travel
- Must have a driver’s license in the applicable state
- Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing
- Ability to work long hours when required
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly
- Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of employees and guests
- Effective listening, understanding, and clarification of concerns
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle, anticipate, prevent, identify, and solve problems
- Ability to understand and evaluate complex information and data
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Regular attendance and compliance with Highgate Hotel standards
