About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Functionally plan and execute work packages within parameters agreed with the project manager
- Evaluate customer specifications
- Prepare technical specifications of machines and apparatuses for inquiry and order
- Develop process flow diagrams according to purchase order terms and equipment lists
- Perform heat and mass balancing for the whole project
- Prepare bills of quantities and manufacturing item lists
- Prepare piping material specifications and line lists
- Select materials and valves
- Prepare enquiry sheets and technical data sheets for bought-out items
- Freeze P&I diagrams through coordination and technical discussions with customers
- Review and approve GA drawings for bought-out items
- Prepare the BOM for the whole plant
- Coordinate with works to track manufacturing item status
- Coordinate with Project and Purchase departments to deliver project materials to customers within timelines
- Conduct 3-D reviews to extract pipeline isometric drawings
- Execute and coordinate changes within dedicated tasks
- Prepare component and general plant documentation
- Participate in order-specific quality assurance
- Prepare specifications and datasheets to ensure project compliance
- Report to the manager and provide assistance as required
- Supervise and direct subordinate engineers
- Manage engineering project data in software
- Document technical equipment and engineering activities
- Coordinate inter-departmentally with E&I, Factory, Inspection, Logistics and other departments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (B.E & B.Tech)
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering and basic knowledge of process technology
- 8-10 years experience in order handling within the plant engineering industry, especially for the petrochemical downstream industry
- Familiarity with detail engineering workflow
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple requests
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to come up with new ways of doing things
