About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform monthly close and post-close activities related to union reporting
  • Calculate benefit contributions
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Submit accounts payable and wire requests
  • Compile data supporting union documentation
  • Partner with union representatives, auditors, and other third-party service providers to capture and approve required information
  • Review collective bargaining agreements and annual rate change letters to ensure current rates are used
  • Research and respond to information requests from internal departments and external auditors
  • Collaborate with the manager to establish goals and prioritize project and department goals
  • Develop positive, cross-collaborative relationships with finance and corporate departments
  • Identify and support process improvement opportunities, partnering with Transition and Automation teams where applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two (2) years of work experience in Accounting
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and SUMIF formulas
  • Understanding and practical application of accounting principles
  • Hybrid schedule from Memphis, TN
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is useful/preferred
  • Experience reviewing large amounts of data for accuracy and completeness is useful
  • Experience in PeopleSoft or Oracle is useful
