About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with the marketing Creative Strategist from concept stage to translate vision and scripts into a visual approach
  • Own end-to-end visual execution of the pod’s output
  • Direct in-person shoots and provide real-time notes to talent, crew, and production
  • Operate the camera when needed for lean, quick-turnaround setups
  • Adjust lines on set to align words and visuals
  • Shoot roughly 5 to 10 variants per concept
  • Partner with the Producer on locations, talent, props, wardrobe, and shot lists
  • Collaborate with editorial and post-production on every cut
  • Maintain craft quality across composition, typography, color, motion, clarity, and voice
  • Translate performance insights into visual direction for future concepts and shoots
  • Work across both Hims and Hers brands and their categories

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6 to 9 years of experience in art direction, video direction, or design
  • Copywriting or scripting as a secondary skill
  • Portfolio spanning concept development and video-first paid social or branded content
  • Experience developing visual treatments and giving creative direction to crews, talent, and editors
  • Hands-on shooting experience and ability to operate a camera for lean shoots
  • Ability to contribute to copy, hooks, or scripts
  • Experience concepting and shipping video-first ads quickly in fast-paced, high-volume environments
  • Deep understanding of platform best practices for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Snap, and emerging short-form formats
  • Experience collaborating with editorial, production, and internal creative teams, including distributed or offshore teams
  • Ability to adapt creative work across multiple brands, categories, and audiences
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and relevant AI creative tools
  • Ability to use performance data to guide creative decisions
  • Portfolio or reel showing concept development, storyboarding, visual direction, and scripting or copywriting where relevant
  • Portfolio must clearly identify the candidate’s contribution on each project
