About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as lead data and analytics technologist for multiple cross-functional teams
- Guide access to and analysis of data and information
- Own, manage, and measure effective use of analytics and intelligence data
- Establish and manage innovation labs and environments for piloting data products, tools, and methodologies
- Research emerging data and analytics trends and evaluate applicability to business objectives
- Generate, curate, and manage US Data Learning & Development content in the Learning Hub
- Design and implement training, cross-skilling, and up-skilling programs
- Lead and mentor data specialists and engineering team members
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements and data solution designs
- Plan new projects with leadership, stakeholders, and product owners/managers, including solution design, infrastructure planning, and estimation
- Create, manage, and maintain data models and context layers, including self-service and AI capabilities
- Provide data expertise and guidance to engineering teams and business users
- Solve complex business, design, and technical issues from strategy through execution
- Perform data analysis and validation for accuracy and integrity
- Promote governance, best practices, and consistent development methodology
- Simplify and reuse code and address technical debt, including performance tuning
- Contribute to design sessions and conduct code and release reviews
- Codify knowledge and expand the team knowledge repository
- Conduct quality control and record-keeping procedures
- Manage day-to-day technical challenges and communicate risks or issues to management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in data management, analytics, solution architecture, cloud platforms, data warehousing/lakehouse concepts, data modeling, and/or data engineering
- Track record of delivering high-quality, complex data solutions
- Demonstrated leadership in strategic data initiatives, innovation environments, and cross-functional project management
- Experience with data as a product and business intelligence concepts, including data governance, data quality, data lineage, data catalog, data visualization, and data storytelling
- Expertise in self-service analytics and visualization capabilities utilizing tools such as Power BI
- Strong SQL, data modeling/warehousing, and AI applied experience
- Advanced knowledge of DBT, SSIS, ETL, ELT, API, streaming, relational and non-relational data structures, JSON, XML, Python, R, PowerShell, and JavaScript
- Strong Insurance domain skills
- Experience designing and delivering training programs, L&D content, and cross-skilling initiatives
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Professional presence and ability to drive strategic outcomes and value
- Experience with Agile frameworks and methodologies
- Strategic and innovative thinking; ability to translate business strategy into data and analytics initiatives
- Exceptional leadership and coaching skills
- Expertise in change management
- Must work in the Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Hartford, or Manhattan office two days per week
