About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, and maintain pricing processes, tools, and strategies
  • Support the continued advancement and development of pricing methodologies
  • Provide decision support for strategic initiatives
  • Implement actuarial techniques and establish and maintain a rate adequacy monitoring process
  • Develop rates and factors for new products
  • Monitor product performance and track rate adequacy
  • Make rate recommendations
  • Maintain and streamline the quarterly rate indication process, including methodologies, assumptions, documentation, validation, data, and communication of results
  • Apply standard actuarial techniques including loss development, trending, premium on-leveling, permissible loss ratio development, and generalized linear models
  • Communicate product concerns and recommendations using PowerPoint and Tableau
  • Develop data processes, create SQL queries, build validation processes, and address data inconsistencies
  • Organize and support rate filings
  • Support senior pricing team members on required projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • 0-3 years of experience in pricing
  • Progress toward actuarial accreditation from the CAS (1+ exams preferred)
  • Coding skills in SQL, VBA, and/or R
  • Strong drive for knowledge and development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Mental agility and adaptability to changing circumstances
