About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Take ownership of pricing models across multiple classes of business
  • Lead pricing assessments for complex new business opportunities, renewals and portfolio initiatives
  • Deliver portfolio performance analysis and actionable insights for underwriting strategy, portfolio management and business planning
  • Develop and enhance pricing methodologies, tools and analytical capabilities
  • Lead defined workstreams within strategic pricing projects, including model development and process improvement
  • Work with Underwriting, Finance, Reserving, Exposure Management and Reinsurance
  • Present complex analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Coach and support junior analysts and promote best practice
  • Identify opportunities to use new technologies, external data sources and advanced analytical techniques

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant experience in insurance pricing, actuarial, underwriting or a related analytical role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently on complex or ambiguous challenges
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence decision-making
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large or complex datasets
  • Experience applying statistical or analytical techniques to support commercial decisions
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance technical considerations with business objectives
  • Educated to degree level with a numerate emphasis, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Fluent written and spoken business English
  • Proficiency in analytical programming languages such as Python, R, SQL or VBA (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with Tableau, Snowflake or Dataiku (nice-to-have)
  • Progress towards actuarial qualifications or an equivalent professional qualification (nice-to-have)
  • Experience developing pricing models or portfolio management tools (nice-to-have)
  • London Market and/or Lloyd's experience (nice-to-have)
