About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in in-sprint testing and validate stories before sprint completion
Partner with developers on functional, integration, and end-to-end test readiness
Validate acceptance criteria and perform risk-based testing
Triage and help resolve in-sprint defects
Promote shift-left testing and an automation-first approach
Reduce escaped defects through improved automation coverage
Optimize in-sprint testing processes to support faster release cycles
Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using Java, Playwright, and Cucumber
Build automated tests across UI, API, integration, and regression layers
Review application designs for testability and provide early SDLC input
Execute automation aligned with CI/CD pipelines
Champion product quality and monitor defect trends and automation health
Support performance, security, and observability testing initiatives
Ensure deliverables meet reliability and functional completeness standards
Participate in the Testing Guild and knowledge-sharing sessions
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and quality engineering leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

Java programming experience
Experience with Playwright, JMeter/LoadRunner, and Cucumber
Experience with JIRA, Xray, and Zephyr
Knowledge of API testing, performance testing, and observability tools
Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies
5–7+ years of experience in test automation or software engineering
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native testing
Insurance/finance experience is a plus
Excellent communication, debugging, and problem-solving skills
