About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and configure substation automation systems using MicroSCADA
  • Develop communication architectures with IEC 61850, Modbus, and DNP3
  • Create HMI screens and RTU logic for real-time monitoring and control
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery and quality
  • Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities on-site and remotely
  • Troubleshoot and optimize system performance for maximum reliability
  • Engage with customers to refine designs and enhance system functionality
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in substation automation or industrial control systems
  • Hands-on experience with MicroSCADA configuration and deployment
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 61850 and related communication protocols
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for automation systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
