About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver large, complex EPC Battery Energy Storage Systems projects within Grid Integration
  • Manage projects from contract award through commercial operation
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Develop and manage project execution plans, scope, schedules, resource plans, goals, and deliverables
  • Own project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, cash flow, margins, and project health tracking
  • Lead risk and opportunity management activities
  • Manage project scope, changes, claims, negotiations, and approvals according to contract requirements
  • Partner with Supply Chain on procurement strategies, subcontracting, bid evaluations, and awards
  • Serve as the primary customer contact and provide project reporting
  • Coordinate project quality activities, address non-conformities, and support audits
  • Work with EHS teams to develop and enforce project-specific safety plans
  • Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
  • Support project closeout activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management
  • 8+ years of experience managing large, multi-faceted electrical projects, including large or mega projects
  • Experience working with different contractual models
  • Solid financial and commercial management skills
  • Proficiency with SAP, MS Project, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including experience coordinating multinational and remote teams
  • Willingness to travel 25% or more domestically and internationally
  • Knowledge of BESS project delivery
  • Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards, including IEEE 1547/2800, NEC, NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A, and AHJ permitting processes
  • Substation, switchyard, or brownfield project experience is a plus
