About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review the state of the art of Power Electronics in the Energy Industry sector
- Evaluate how Power Electronics could fit in small, medium and large Power Transformers and identify all possibilities of application
- Define needs and specifications for potential projects
- Act as the speaking voice on these topics for discussions with other Hitachi groups specialized in power electronics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power electronics
- Drive innovation by contributing to technology roadmap and strategy in the related field
- Prepare technical documentation and reports to communicate findings and support knowledge transfer
- Identify leading third parties in Power Electronics and engage with external stakeholders, including customers, universities, and research centers, to foster partnerships and promote technical excellence
- Maintain an overview of intellectual property in the area of expertise and develop strategies for project-related IP
- Identify and manage potential risks associated with R&D projects and contribute to risk management in the organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- MS degree in Electrical engineering or relevant engineering branch
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Power Electronics in R&D, engineering, or academic research
- Former experience in Solid State Transformers will be valuable
- Ability to effectively use external and internal standards and regulations
- Awareness of intellectual property considerations in the research and development process
- A structured, problem-solving, self-driven, solutions-oriented approach
- Spirit of innovation, out of the box thinking
- Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent spoken and written English
