Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide educational content solutions that meet school district needs in an assigned territory
  • Design sales strategies addressing customer needs while meeting assigned quota
  • Target and prioritize accounts and activities
  • Analyze competitors’ activities and adjust strategies
  • Utilize area, national and Per Diem resources effectively
  • Plan sales calls with objectives and action steps
  • Analyze market trends and communicate insights to Area Management
  • Maintain knowledge of account history, district processes and procedures, and key account issues
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to customer requests and problems
  • Develop professional credibility and trust with customers
  • Provide consultants and outside resources with timely, complete territory information
  • Use voicemail and email appropriately
  • Regularly update Salesforce.com
  • Understand curriculum areas and communicate product features, advantages and benefits
  • Maintain knowledge of state and local adoption timelines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, Business, Marketing or Liberal Arts, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of full cycle sales experience
  • Sales and education experience preferred
  • Salesforce and Sales Management Software experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Must have an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time through a combination of motor vehicle
  • Must live in the Northern California area
  • Minimum three days per week in the field
