About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create compelling marketing and sales collateral aligned with brand guidelines across HMH’s portfolio of brands
  • Collaborate with senior designers, managers, and requestors to refine ideas, incorporate feedback, and deliver high-quality creative solutions
  • Meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and communicate bandwidth or scheduling issues to leadership
  • Stay current with design and digital trends, apply best practices, and bring innovative ideas
  • Present and justify design choices in alignment with creative briefs and initiative goals
  • Seek and integrate feedback to refine creative work
  • Suggest process enhancements and introduce ideas that improve team efficiency and creativity
  • Maintain accuracy in design execution, properly build and manage files, and produce polished work
  • Optimize organization and workflow to support seamless project handoffs
  • Take ownership of assignments and proactively contribute to team success and growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidates must include a Design Portfolio and provide the full URL to an online portfolio
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design or related field
  • Strong time-management and project management skills; ability to multi-task, manage multiple timelines, and work across functions
  • High attention to detail
  • Expertise in digital channels and marketing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Strong editorial design sensibility/eye, with excellent typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy across print and digital
  • Strong client-service orientation
  • Strong decision-making skills; find solutions quickly and with confidence
  • Experience working within design systems, templates, and reusable assets to support scalable production and self-service
  • Experience using AI-assisted design or other emerging creative tools, with sound judgment to use them responsibly and effectively
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Figma is highly preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a stationary position for a considerable time
  • Ability to constantly operate a computer
  • Ability to collaborate via face-to-face, conference calls, and online meetings
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends
