About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a clear understanding of HMH’s and NWEA’s data and evidence supporting the brand story
  • Map evidence across individual product, operational/portfolio, and new-innovation levels
  • Translate research, efficacy studies, and outcomes data into clear, usable proof points
  • Build and maintain a proof-point library or evidence repository
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the evidence base for brand stories
  • Partner with Research & Efficacy, Product, Data/Analytics, and business unit teams
  • Connect data owners with storytellers and ensure claims are substantiated, current, and defensible
  • Design and establish an operating model connecting proof-point needs, data, and on-brand stories
  • Establish intake, prioritization, and governance processes
  • Create repeatable systems, templates, and workflows for sourcing, packaging, and reusing evidence
  • Package evidence for customer stories, case studies, campaign proof, sales enablement, and thought leadership
  • Prepare proof points and supporting narrative for reactive communication
  • Lead customer stories and case studies from sourcing through publication
  • Support editorial and content plans with evidence, proof points, and customer insight
  • Contribute to gated content such as white papers, research briefs, and practitioner guides
  • Partner with content strategy and Growth Marketing on evidence-backed campaign assets
  • Help develop long-form brand content for search and emerging AI-driven channels
  • Ensure evidence-based content is accurate, supported, and aligned with the brand voice

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, English, a data- or research-related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years in editorial, content marketing, communications, or a related evidence-driven storytelling function
  • Comfort working with data and research; able to interpret findings, ask the right questions, and judge what matters for the brand
  • Ability to translate research, data, or technical subject matter into compelling narrative for a non-technical audience
  • Experience building repeatable processes, systems, or workflows that connect teams and information
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of long-form, customer story, and thought leadership work
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; able to coordinate across functions and drive others to deliver without direct authority
  • Working knowledge of SEO and emerging LLM/AI search optimization practices
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools in a content workflow
  • K–12 education, EdTech, or mission-driven B2B experience — preferred
  • Familiarity with efficacy research, assessment, or outcomes reporting — preferred
