About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote student success within assigned school district territories
  • Forge partnerships with account administrators and educators to deliver tailored solutions that enhance educational outcomes
  • Manage existing accounts and identify promising new business opportunities
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to drive pipeline and close Core and Supplemental business
  • Forecast accurately and use Salesforce territory data to identify, progress, and close sales opportunities
  • Develop and execute account plans using internal processes, systems, partners, and teams
  • Build pipeline of at least 2.5 times the sales quota, work opportunities, and close business for quota achievement
  • Respond to customer requests and concerns in a timely manner
  • Build trust and work toward becoming a trusted advisor in the territory
  • Route customer requests and needs through HMH internal processes and monitor inquiries to resolution

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in educational sales or related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Technical understanding of Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and LMSs
  • Experience managing complex tasks, multiple accounts and consultative selling
  • Ability to communicate effectively, understand customer roles, manage customer relationships, and position HMH products as a trusted partner
  • People skills to build and leverage relationships to close business, manage customer expectations, and communicate confidently with all levels of school district leadership, including superintendents
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends
  • Ability to travel up to 80%
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
