About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities through the gate process
- Establish relationships with contracting personnel and clients supported by Mission Solutions, including the Department of State, DoD, DHS, CBP, USCIS, and US Secret Service
- Attend industry days and conferences to develop a robust 24-month pipeline
- Drive revenue growth by identifying business opportunities, maintaining existing business, selling products or services, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Research customer markets and leverage industry relationships to identify opportunities and gain intelligence on acquisition plans
- Target opportunities suited for Mission Solutions, including 8(a) direct awards and competitive pursuits
- Shape opportunities to ensure Mission Solutions is qualified and prepared for bids and submissions
- Establish and maintain a minimum two-year business development pipeline
- Maintain the 24-month pipeline with daily Salesforce updates
- Research and identify growth opportunities
- Develop and defend gate reviews
- Develop and implement growth strategies, including risk assessments
- Meet annual business development, organic, and new growth targets
- Support capture and proposal activities
- Generate reports and deliver presentations
- Identify and prospect potential solutions and services through research, networking, and referrals
- Understand client needs and pain points and provide appropriate ANG product or service offerings
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and client discussions
- Develop and execute capture strategies to meet or exceed business development targets
- Negotiate and close deals, including execution of NDAs and TAs
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients and strategic partners
- Maintain regular client communication, address concerns, and gather feedback
- Anticipate client needs and propose solutions or enhancements
- Coordinate with marketing, customer support, product development, and other cross-functional teams
- Coordinate projects, orders, and deliverables
- Resolve issues and challenges to ensure client satisfaction
- Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities
- Provide market insights to internal teams
- Maintain accurate CRM records and generate sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15+ years’ experience in the proposal and business capture environment
- Former employee experience with the US Government
- Demonstrated ability to lead, drive capture and generate revenue
- High energy level and excitement about the pursuit and having an impact
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of military / federal acquisition models, practices, and techniques
- Experience supporting proposal development and other written communications
- Multitasking and attention to detail
- Goal oriented and highly motivated
- Results driven, with time management and planning skills
- Strong grammar and proofreading skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Social Sciences, or a related field preferred
- Secret clearance or ability to obtain a Secret or above clearance preferred
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 85% of the time
- Ability to frequently move standard office equipment up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work indoor conditions 95% of the time
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; evening and weekend hours as required by business need
- Travel within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, with regular travel to the Fairfax, VA or Colorado Springs office as needed; some out-of-state and overnight travel may be expected
