About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Human Resources department with administrative functions
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the Village Pointe Office and companies/subsidiaries operating there
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls; assist with routine inquiries
  • Greet visitors, determine their needs, and direct them to the appropriate person or office
  • Assist with planning and coordination of building-sponsored events
  • Organize and maintain common areas, meeting rooms, and training rooms in coordination with the Operations Specialist
  • Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel requests
  • Maintain vacancy listings and assist with creating job postings, descriptions, and related documents
  • Process applications and resumes, screen applicants, verify information and references, and refer candidates for pre-employment screening
  • Perform onboarding tasks, including scheduling orientation, completing and verifying paperwork, facility tours, and introductions to the chain of command
  • Explain Ho-Chunk, Inc. personnel policies and procedures to employees and applicants
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials
  • Maintain current employee information and statistics in HR Online
  • Receive and monitor incoming and outgoing mail and packages
  • Provide general office and clerical support
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree (A.A.) in Human Resources or related field, two (2) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present information one-on-one and in small-group situations
  • Ability to prioritize workload, solve problems quickly, and interact effectively with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with staff members, clients, and external partners
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and ability to use the Internet for research and information-gathering
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to be insurable under the company insurance provider/program
