About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Vermont Army National Guard medical readiness operations
  • Receive, scan, file, process, reconcile, upload, and safeguard Soldier medical and dental records
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy medical records in accordance with Army Regulation AR 40-66
  • Log and track incoming medical documents and forward them to the Records Custodian or delegate within three business days
  • Upload and verify documents in the Health Readiness Record (HRR)
  • Perform charting and data entry in eCase, MEDPROS, AHLTA, and DENCLASS within three business days
  • Review hardcopy and electronic files for completeness, particularly for Medical Evaluation Boards
  • Coordinate record transfers to and from mobilization sites, ensuring readiness at least 72 hours before mobilization
  • Maintain HIPAA standards and safeguard Personally Identifiable Information
  • Support and attend Periodic Health Assessment and Soldier Readiness Process events
  • Provide support for weekend soldier readiness events as required
  • Work at the VTARNG State Medical Detachment, Green Mountain Armory, Camp Johnson

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Ability to utilize military health databases such as MEDCHART, MEDPROS, eCase, and AHLTA
  • Familiarity with Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) policies and Army Regulation AR 40-66
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to complete required Government, installation, information assurance, OPSEC, antiterrorism, iWATCH, CAC, and system-access training within required timelines
  • Must complete a favorably adjudicated Tier 1 background investigation or higher for CAC issuance
  • Must be registered in the Army Training Certification Tracking System (ATCTS)
  • Must complete Anti-Terrorism Level 1 Awareness, iWATCH, Information Assurance, and Level 1 OPSEC training within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to work on-site will be prioritized
  • Standard work hours between 0730-1630, Monday through Friday
  • Ability to support weekend soldier readiness events as required
  • Travel may be required to mobilization stations
  • Preferred: post-secondary coursework, certification, or specialized training in health information management, medical records, medical administration, medical coding, healthcare documentation, or a related field
  • Preferred: prior experience in medical records, health information management, medical administration, case management support, military medical readiness, or comparable healthcare administrative environment
  • Preferred: experience handling confidential medical documentation, HIPAA-protected health information, PII, electronic health records, document scanning, records indexing, and records retrieval
  • Preferred: experience with DoD, Army National Guard, military medical readiness systems, or Government healthcare environments
