About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the development and operationalisation of the firm's AI skills framework and HLC Lead & Learn learning and development curriculum
  • Translate the firm's AI priorities into structured, practical and role-relevant learning and development pathways
  • Define skills required at different career stages and integrate AI into core learning and development programmes
  • Develop reusable assets and establish a consistent global delivery cadence
  • Develop and maintain a role-based AI capability framework for lawyers and Business Teams
  • Translate AI, legal practice, client expectations and digital strategy developments into prioritised learning requirements
  • Identify gaps, overlaps and opportunities to reuse or improve existing AI learning content
  • Design modular curricula adaptable across programs, regions, practices and audiences
  • Embed responsible use, professional judgement, verification, information handling and human supervision throughout the curriculum
  • Lead the design and delivery of firm-wide AI learning and development curriculum
  • Create or commission practical learning on prompting, critical evaluation, supervising AI-supported work, workflow redesign, automation and agents
  • Translate internal use cases into exercises, demonstrations, playbooks, prompts, toolkits and reusable assets
  • Work with facilitators and regional colleagues to build delivery capability and maintain quality at scale
  • Embed AI capabilities across the firm's core learning and development portfolio
  • Facilitate conversations to identify priority skills, emerging use cases, learner needs and adoption barriers
  • Advise stakeholders on implications of new tools, workflows and AI-enabled ways of working
  • Monitor research and market developments in AI capability, legal education and professional learning
  • Evaluate external content and providers and recommend whether to curate, commission, partner or build internally
  • Define curriculum success measures including reach, progression, application, confidence, behaviour change and stakeholder outcomes
  • Use learner feedback, assessment evidence, platform data and stakeholder insight to improve the curriculum
  • Report on provision, coverage, capability gaps and priorities
  • Support development of a sustainable global operating model for AI learning and development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • No specific professional qualification is required
  • Significant experience in learning and development, capability building, curriculum design, organisational learning or a comparable discipline
  • Demonstrable experience designing structured learning pathways or capability frameworks for multiple roles or career levels
  • Strong practical understanding of generative AI and its implications for professional work, learning and capability development
  • Experience translating complex or rapidly evolving subjects into clear, relevant and practical learning
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning and development, instructional design and blended learning
  • Experience leading complex programs across multiple stakeholders, teams or regions
  • Credibility and confidence working with senior leaders and subject-matter experts
  • Strong facilitation, communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
  • Strong judgement concerning responsible AI use, quality, verification and human oversight
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment
  • Experience in a law firm, professional-services organisation or similarly regulated, knowledge-intensive environment
  • Relevant professional qualifications in learning, organisational development, change, digital or technology would be advantageous
  • Experience embedding capability development into career, leadership or professional-development programs
  • Experience with legal AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, workflow automation or other enterprise AI tools
  • Experience establishing learning and development measures that go beyond attendance and satisfaction
  • Experience commissioning or managing external learning and development providers and content partners
  • A relevant learning, organisational development, coaching, change, digital or technology qualification is desirable
