Key responsibilities & impact

Build and optimise mission-critical microservices using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF)
Implement robust unit testing with Pytest and automated quality checks
Architect scalable APIs capable of handling high-concurrency traffic during peak travel seasons
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, including N+1 query issues and asynchronous task optimisation
Collaborate with Product and QA teams to translate complex business logic into maintainable technical solutions
Champion software lifecycle best practices, including design patterns, documentation, and comprehensive code reviews

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in backend development with a mastery of Django and Django REST Framework (DRF)
Strong expertise in Unit Testing and establishing quality-first development frameworks
Proven experience designing microservices architectures and integrating complex third-party ecosystem applications
Proficiency in asynchronous programming and managing high-load database queries
Based in Ireland or willing to relocate
Valid work visa already in place

Experience with Silk or other performance profiling tools is good to have
