About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Firm's data protection initiatives and processes
  • Conduct client risk assessments, data protection impact assessments, and artificial intelligence assessments
  • Conduct investigations, inquiries, and remediation efforts
  • Analyze and support privacy and compliance initiatives, including privacy by design, data minimization, access management and controls, and protection of personal information
  • Develop and assist with corrective action plans
  • Monitor and audit Firm processes involving personal information
  • Resolve internal audit findings and align operational processes with compliance requirements
  • Create and maintain procedural documentation
  • Participate in data protection controls strategy and administer privacy and security controls supporting regulatory and federal government requirements
  • Serve as a privacy and compliance resource to cross-functional teams and workgroups
  • Assist with administrative and operational privacy and compliance program functions
  • Handle special projects and assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2–4 years of professional compliance experience, including familiarity with privacy and data protection
  • Effective communication, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to learn rapidly and work independently
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic, evolving, and regulated environment
  • Ability to identify risks and mitigation strategies, stay organized, and manage strict deadlines
  • Ability to communicate critical program goals and promote a privacy- and risk-aware culture
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with clients, internal attorneys, cross-functional teams, leaders, and subject matter experts
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and iManage
  • Preferred: knowledge or understanding of data protection principles
  • Preferred: GRC experience
  • Preferred: understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Privacy
  • Preferred: law firm experience
  • Preferred: industry-standard certification such as CCEP, CIPP, CIPM, or similar certification
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
