Key responsibilities & impact

Build trusting, nonjudgmental relationships with clients based on shared lived experience
Use personal recovery experience to offer hope, motivation, and accountability
Collaborate with participants and the Holon care team to develop personalized recovery plans
Connect clients to community resources, including housing, healthcare, employment, and transportation
Conduct strengths-based assessments to identify client needs and goals
Advocate for clients within the justice system, care system, and other relevant environments
Partner with Care Navigators, clinicians, and judicial points of contact for integrated care
Stay informed on best practices in peer support and recovery-based care
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards
Contribute to new initiatives and engagement strategies as assigned

What you’ll need

Sustained recovery with at least one year of lived experience (strongly preferred)
Certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRS) or Peer Recovery Coach
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification as a Peer Recovery Coach or PRS in the state of Iowa; national certification from an accredited agency like NAADAC is also accepted
1–2 years in a peer support role is strongly preferred
Lived experience or close connection to someone in recovery is strongly valued
Experience working with justice-involved populations is a plus
Deep empathy, strong listening, and communication skills
Knowledge of recovery realities and barriers clients may face
Commitment to professional boundaries and ethical standards
Comfort working remotely in a fast-paced, team-based environment
Alignment with Holon’s values of equity, inclusion, and whole-person care
