About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Engage with internal and external customers via telephone and email in a highly professional, caring and knowledgeable manner
Coordinate shipments of medical supplies to recurring customers
Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies
Properly document and note all orders, actions taken, and other pertinent information
Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to the company's product formularies
Discuss insurance procedures and regulations with customers, medical professionals, and caregivers as they relate to specific customer policies
Accurately assist customers in receiving products for conditions serviced by HCD, including incontinence, diabetes, and nutrition
Meet and maintain department productivity standards
Maintain acceptable quality assurance standards on calls
Cooperate with internal and external investigations, reviews, and audits
Report compliance concerns in good faith
Participate in annual and ad hoc compliance training
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED
Call Center experience is required, preferably in a customer service role
Medical experience is helpful, such as medical office or CNA experience
MS Office knowledge
Preference given to bilingual candidates
Ability to sit for extended periods, typically 6-8 hours a day, while working at a computer station
Proficiency in using a keyboard, mouse, and other computer peripherals for data entry and communication purposes
Ability to view a computer screen for prolonged periods, with good visual acuity to read small print and accurately enter data
Adequate hearing ability, with or without correction, to understand and respond to customer inquiries via telephone or other audio equipment
Regular use of the hands, wrists, and fingers to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and using a mouse
Ability to perform all duties in compliance with federal and state statutes, regulations and policies, CHAP requirements and policies, and HCD's Compliance Program and Standards
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patients' protected health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
