About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate, administer, and oversee evidence-based occupational therapy services for individuals with physical disabilities and/or functional limitations
- Develop and update individualized plans of care with patients and families
- Implement skilled therapy techniques, including therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, functional mobility training, activities of daily living training, and modalities
- Provide verbal and written instructions to patients, caregivers, and family members
- Evaluate patient responses and establish measurable treatment goals and discharge plans
- Maintain accurate medical-record documentation, treatment notes, plans, progress reports, discharge summaries, and patient charges
- Complete billing and billing sheets according to department procedures
- Confer with interdisciplinary teams and medical personnel regarding treatment, patient status, and discharge planning
- Provide feedback on discharge needs, recommended care level, and equipment needs
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, staff meetings, in-services, utilization review programs, committees, and student preceptor or mentor programs
- Delegate patients to occupational therapist assistants and supervise assistants and assistive personnel
- Identify department needs and process improvements
- Contribute to staff recruitment and retention through positive role-modeling and peer relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Inpatient NICU experience required
- Willingness to work at a minimum of 3 medical centers
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university approved by the AOTA, prior to starting employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Current Occupational Therapist license issued by the Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners, in good standing, prior to starting employment
- Six months recent experience for the network float position (preferred)
- Ability to work PRN day shifts from 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with rotating holidays and weekends
