About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate, administer, and oversee evidence-based physical therapy services for individuals with physical disabilities and/or functional limitations
- Develop and update individualized plans of care with patients and families
- Implement treatment plans using therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, functional mobility training, activities of daily living training, and modalities
- Provide instructions to patients, caregivers, and family members
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment and document clinical findings
- Maintain medical records, treatment notes, plans of care, progress reports, discharge summaries, and patient charges
- Complete billing documentation according to department procedures
- Confer with interdisciplinary teams and medical personnel regarding treatment, patient status, and discharge plans
- Provide feedback on discharge needs, recommended level of care, and equipment needs
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, staff meetings, in-services, utilization review programs, committees, and student preceptor or mentor programs
- Delegate appropriate patients to physical therapist assistants and supervise assistants and assistive personnel
- Support department process improvements, staff recruitment, retention, and collaborative relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy from an accredited university approved by the APTA, prior to starting employment
- NICU experience required
- Willingness to work at a minimum of 3 medical centers
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Current Physical Therapist license issued by the Arizona Board of Physical Therapy in good standing and/or Compact State Licensure upon hire required
- Six months recent experience for other Network float position preferred
- 6 months experience preferred
- Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited university approved by the APTA preferred
- American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) certificate preferred
