Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform, monitor, and document long-term video EEG studies
  • Perform continuous video-EEG monitoring and ensure accurate recording of brain activity and patient behaviors
  • Apply scalp electrodes using the International 10–20 system
  • Verify impedance, calibrate equipment, and maintain optimal signal quality
  • Observe, identify, and document seizure activity and clinical events
  • Escalate clinical events to the appropriate care team in real time
  • Maintain continuous patient surveillance through remote monitoring systems and video technology
  • Recognize artifacts versus clinical changes and adjust acquisition parameters
  • Provide patient education and support patient and family understanding
  • Respond to emergencies and assist care teams
  • Maintain equipment functionality and supply inventory
  • Document patient history, neurologic status, and event logs in monitoring systems and the EMR
  • Collaborate with epileptologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Six months or more of EEG experience required
  • Registered EEG Technician certification required
  • ASET LTM100 required within 3 months of hire
  • High School Diploma required
  • Technical Training Diploma/Degree required
  • Completion of EEG Program required
  • Experience with continuous video-EEG monitoring
  • Knowledge of the International 10–20 system
  • Ability to verify impedance and calibrate EEG equipment
  • Ability to recognize seizure activity and distinguish artifact from clinical changes
  • Ability to document patient history, neurologic status, and event logs in monitoring systems and the EMR
