About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide age-appropriate primary care collaboratively with the healthcare team
  • Promote health maintenance and disease prevention
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic diseases

  • Support healthcare providers through consultation, research, clinical and professional leadership, and collaboration
  • Educate nursing staff on clinical skills, critical thinking, discharge planning, and nurse-physician-client-family communication
  • Mentor staff nurses and promote involvement in patient- and family-centered care decisions
  • Conduct and support research, evidence-based practice, and process improvement projects
  • Incorporate current research findings and available evidence into practice
  • Address reimbursement and business practice, marketing and contracting, legal, regulatory, credentialing, and health policy considerations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree (MS, MN, or MSN) from a National League of Nursing (NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) program, required prior to start
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, required
  • Valid Arizona Nurse Practitioner licensure with prescriptive authority upon hire, required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire, required
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license upon hire, required
  • Current Fingerprint Clearance Card, or eligibility to apply within seven working days after employment (Pediatric Behavioral Health Sites ONLY), required upon hire
  • Specialty board certification from an approved national certifying agency, including ANCC, NCC, or AANP, required upon hire
  • Stroke-specific education requirements prior to start for staff with direct responsibility for stroke patients
  • Specialty experience preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
