About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide constant patient supervision to assure patient safety
- Perform non-clinical basic patient care tasks
- Observe patients for changes in condition, comfort, or safety issues
- Report situations requiring intervention or clinical monitoring to nursing personnel
- Assist patients with basic comfort needs, including arranging pillows and handling food, drinks, or supplies when there are no special needs, allergies, diet, or activity restrictions
- Maintain a compassionate, pleasant, respectful, and professional manner
- Protect patient dignity, confidentiality, and privacy
- Use appropriate safety techniques and standard precautions
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school coursework required
- Other/certificate education required
- 6 months of experience in a hospital role preferred
- Ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on the assigned unit
- Knowledge and use of appropriate safety techniques and standard precautions
- Proper isolation attire and appropriate hand-cleansing techniques
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
- Ability to work day and night shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
