About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Float between 3+ locations within the Network Float Pool
- Provide professional nursing care to NICU patients and their families
- Collect and analyze patient health data and determine nursing diagnoses
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized, family-centered plans of care
- Administer medications, treatments, therapies, emergency and resuscitative measures
- Start, maintain, and discontinue IV lines for fluids, medications, blood, and blood products
- Monitor patients and document observations, interventions, therapeutic measures, and multisystem data
- Consult and collaborate with physicians, clinicians, patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families on illness or injury management, post-treatment care, nutrition, exercise, medications, and therapy
- Direct licensed practical nurses and nursing aides and delegate patient-care tasks appropriately
- Support clinical knowledge development, precept new hires and students, and assist with competency completion
- Evaluate care quality, effectiveness, safety, cost, and patient outcomes
- Apply evidence-based research and contribute to nursing practice development and quality improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- ADN or Diploma in Nursing required
- All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire OR have 5 or more years of Registered Nurse experience at the time of hire
- 2 years of experience as a NICU RN required
- 1 year RN experience for all Float Positions required
- More than 10 months of experience in a med-surg or acute specialty setting required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- National certification for unit-specific patient population preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Arizona upon hire required
- Ability to float between 3+ locations
- Day shift availability: 0700a–1930p
- PRN availability
