About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a first point of contact for employees and supervisors seeking assistance with routine Human Resources questions, requests, and processes
- Provide employee services support for leave administration, including FMLA and PFML
- Coordinate ADA accommodations
- Support employee relations
- Support benefits administration
- Support general HR operations
- Exercise judgment about when to resolve matters and when to refer them to the Benefits Manager, Employee Relations Manager, or another HR leader
- Maintain accurate and timely FMLA and PFML tracking and reporting
- Work with managers to resolve discrepancies and ensure leave is properly recorded
- Apply established policies and procedures consistently
- Identify incomplete, inconsistent, or potentially sensitive information and seek appropriate guidance
- Conduct or participate in employee meetings in a professional and objective manner
- Work independently within established procedures and recognize when consultation or escalation is needed
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and supervisors at all levels
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma / GED required
- Associate’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred
- Two years of experience in human resources, employee services, benefits administration, leave administration, or a related field
- Experience handling confidential employee information required
- Experience using HRIS, benefits administration, leave-tracking, or other HR-related systems
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Knowledge of basic human resources principles, practices, and terminology
- Knowledge of basic concepts related to FMLA, PFML, ADA accommodations, employee benefits, and employee relations
- Knowledge of leave tracking, documentation, and reporting practices
- Knowledge of confidentiality requirements and appropriate handling of sensitive employee information
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, records, and administrative practices
- Skill in providing professional and responsive customer service to employees and supervisors
- Skill in communicating clearly and respectfully regarding sensitive or confidential matters
- Skill in listening to employee concerns, gathering relevant information, and determining appropriate next steps
- Skill in organizing, tracking, and following up on multiple requests, leave activities, and deadlines
- Skill in reviewing leave records, documents, invoices, and reports for accuracy and completeness
- Skill in preparing routine reports and identifying discrepancies or missing information
- Skill in maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Skill in using HRIS, benefits administration, Microsoft Office, email, and other HR-related systems
- Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license
