About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Map business workflows by shadowing employees and documenting steps, handoffs, and wait times
- Select repetitive, high-volume, time-consuming workloads for automation with functional leaders
- Define and baseline cycle-time or unit metrics before development
- Partner with engineering to design and ship internal automation at Engine’s scale
- Use AI tools and agents for analysis, prototyping, and documentation
- Define initial scope, rollout users, and expansion plan
- Establish handoff plans with named functional owners
- Decide whether to fix or stop initiatives when metrics do not improve
- Map key workflows, launch the first workload with real users, reduce cycle time, and contribute to the embed playbook
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years in product management
- Ideally experience with internal tools, operations, or workflow products
- At least one AI or automation product in production
- Experience mapping messy business processes and removing time-consuming steps
- Ability to baseline cycle time and define metrics for business leader sign-off
- Ability to account for costs, including model spend and engineering time
- Understanding of LLMs and agents, including strengths, failure modes, evaluations, and human review in workflows
- Ability to earn trust with leaders who do not report to you
- Ability to hold the line on scope
- Willingness to shadow support agents or accountants and judge success by improved work speed
