About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build and ship backend services and APIs using Python 3, Flask, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL and Redis
  • Build the React and React Native frontends powered by backend services
  • Lead AI-assisted development using agentic coding tools, prompt and context engineering, automated review, test generation and evaluation
  • Set and uphold engineering standards for CI, peer review, automated testing and observability
  • Deliver safe releases on AWS
  • Integrate with Airbnb, booking channels, payments and messaging platforms
  • Pair with product and operations to turn hosting problems into shipped software
  • Mentor through code review and example, helping the wider team adopt effective practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of professional software development, with deep hands-on Python and solid React; highly technical and still coding every day
  • Daily, serious use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar) in real production work
  • Strong API design, relational database and CI/CD experience (PostgreSQL, Docker, GitHub Actions or CircleCI, AWS)
  • Track record of shipping and operating production systems, including incident response and prevention
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Based in Georgia and able to work as an independent contractor
  • Experience building agentic workflows or LLM features into a product (tool use, evals, prompt caching, cost control) — nice to have
  • React Native, Elastic Stack, or proptech / travel / marketplace background — nice to have
