About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses
Ensure compliance with IFRS, corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and supporting financial reporting processes
Partner with FP&A and Finance Leadership to explain results, investigate variances, and identify financial risks and opportunities
Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the accounting team
Establish priorities, accountability, and performance expectations
Coach, develop, and support team members
Serve as the primary accounting contact for internal and external audits
Coordinate audit requests and resolve audit findings and recommendations
Act as the accounting function leader during the SAP S/4HANA ERP transformation
Partner with the SAP project team on process changes, testing, cutover planning, and stabilization
Provide accounting subject matter expertise on reporting, controls, close processes, and operational accounting
Identify and implement opportunities to automate, streamline, standardize, and improve accounting processes
Develop and maintain documentation for key processes and controls
Build relationships with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Corporate stakeholders
Provide accounting guidance and advise senior leadership on accounting and financial reporting matters

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
CPA designation preferred
10+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility
5+ years of people leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
Demonstrated ownership of monthly close, financial reporting, and internal controls
Strong experience working within complex system environments
SAP experience strongly preferred
Experience supporting organizational transformation, ERP implementations, or large-scale process changes is considered a significant asset
Experience within manufacturing, healthcare, consumer products, or similarly complex operational environments preferred
Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls
Thorough understanding of IFRS
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with financial reporting and consolidation systems
Strong process improvement and project management capabilities
