About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide engineering leadership to a team of audio experts developing hardware/software solutions for Pan-PS products
  • Advise senior management on overall audio strategies and long-term organizational goals
  • Plan, manage, and monitor high-end operational/tactical activities
  • Establish vision, strategy, and priorities for audio solutions across PS PCs, docks, and display products
  • Lead individual contributors designing audio engineering solutions and building 3-year strategies for audio hardware/software components
  • Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, costs, resources, timelines, and budgets across projects and programs
  • Communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide strategic decision-making with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders, and executives
  • Lead innovative audio solutions that differentiate HP in the market
  • Resolve cross-business-unit disagreements on solution implementation and strategy
  • Manage outsourced partners and suppliers, including deliverables, quality, schedules, and costs
  • Support negotiations and establish terms for services and projects
  • Identify process-improvement and cost-reduction opportunities
  • Apply expert subject matter knowledge, shape knowledge bases, drive change initiatives, and monitor performance goals
  • Recruit, manage performance, coach, and support career development
  • Establish knowledge, performance, and career-development tools for team and process development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence
  • Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience
  • Preferably experience in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field
  • Knowledge of C++, computer engineering, computer science, debugging, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, electronics, FPGA, hardware architecture, hardware design, MATLAB, mechanical engineering, new product development, oscilloscope, physics, printed circuit board, Python, schematic capture, simulations, and systems design
  • 25% travel
