About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide engineering leadership to a team of audio experts building hardware/software solutions for Pan-PS products
  • Advise senior management on overall audio strategies and long-term organizational goals
  • Plan, manage, and monitor high-end operational and tactical employee activities
  • Establish vision, strategy, and priorities for audio solutions across PCs, docks, and display products
  • Design audio engineering solutions and build three-year strategies for audio hardware/software components
  • Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, costs, resources, timelines, and budgets across multiple projects and programs
  • Communicate program status and escalate issues to program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders, and executives
  • Lead innovative audio solutions that differentiate HP in the market
  • Resolve cross-business-unit disagreements on solution implementation and strategy
  • Manage outsourced partners and suppliers, including deliverables, quality, schedules, costs, service terms, and project negotiations
  • Identify process improvement and cost-reduction opportunities
  • Apply expert subject-matter knowledge, drive change initiatives, and monitor performance goals
  • Lead recruitment, performance management, coaching, and career development
  • Ensure knowledge, performance standards, and career development tools support team and process development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence
  • Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience
  • Preferably experience in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field
  • Knowledge of C++, computer engineering, computer science, debugging, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, electronics, FPGA, hardware architecture, hardware design, MATLAB, mechanical engineering, new product development, oscilloscope, physics, printed circuit board, Python, schematic capture, simulations, and systems design
  • Ability to manage teams, prioritize, think strategically, and demonstrate resilience
  • Travel requirement of 25%
