About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct comprehensive on-site audits of suppliers across the network
- Assess compliance with health and safety, environmental, social and governance regulations and legislation
- Evaluate supplier performance against internal standards and policies
- Identify non-compliance and potential business risks
- Monitor supplier corrective action plans and conduct follow-up audits
- Produce detailed audit reports with findings, risk assessments and actionable recommendations
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to communicate audit findings and support supplier relationship decisions
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of audit activities
- Work collaboratively with suppliers to support compliance and provide guidance on best practice, regulations and ProService standards
- Stay current with legislation, best practice and industry standards
- Visit suppliers 2–3 days per week and occasionally attend meetings at the Manchester head office
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in auditing, compliance or quality assurance, ideally within supply chain, construction or rental sectors
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and applicable ESG-related legislation relevant to UK businesses
- Ability to identify compliance gaps and potential risks
- Effective communication skills for delivering difficult messages professionally while maintaining positive supplier relationships
- Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule and prioritise multiple audits
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills
- Ability to present complex findings clearly to various audiences
- Comfortable travelling to supplier locations across the UK and occasionally to Head Office in Manchester
- Full UK driving licence
- NEBOSH General Certificate and IRCA Lead Audit (9001, 14001, 45001) desirable
- IEMA membership desirable
- Diploma in Health and Safety desirable
