About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the successful execution of the project portfolio, including schedule performance, budget adherence, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction
- Provide visibility into project performance, risks, issues, and recommended actions for leadership decision-making
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex project challenges and drive timely resolution
- Maintain accountability for project milestones and deliverables and ensure compliance with established processes, standards, and frameworks
- Implement and reinforce standardized project management methodologies, tools, and processes
- Partner with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service for aligned project execution
- Optimize project assignments and resource allocation across the team
- Monitor key performance indicators and lead continuous improvement efforts
- Oversee budgets, cost variances, forecasting, and change order management
- Ensure rigor in high-risk and high-value projects through formal reviews, approvals, and milestone tracking
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers
- Provide decision-making guidance on complex project issues and stakeholder concerns
- Execute performance reviews, coaching, succession planning, and development planning
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Advise the Director of Project Management on team structure, capability gaps, and development needs
- Build and strengthen internal and external relationships
- Supervise Project Managers and support cross-functional project contributors
- Travel to customer sites, wastewater treatment facilities, industrial sites, training events, and tradeshows as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or a related field is preferred
- 8-10+ years' progressive experience in project management, engineering, or related technical environments
- 5+ years' leadership experience managing project teams in a technical or industrial setting
- Strong interpersonal skills, accountability, problem solving, and analytical thinking
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Wastewater industry or industrial experience preferred
- Project Management Certification preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Background check as it relates to the role
- Completion of an I-9 form
- Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment
- Local candidates only; no relocation
