About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in executing mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives across the HubSpot platform
- Support sourcing, evaluating, and executing strategic transactions
- Develop investment theses and manage the transaction pipeline
- Execute due diligence and review transaction documents
- Complete financial modeling
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analyses to identify potential targets and growth opportunities
- Build relationships with emerging startups, investors, and other market participants
- Monitor industry trends and activity
- Partner on post-close integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to drive HubSpot’s inorganic growth strategy
- Place HubSpot customers at the forefront of business decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–4 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, corporate development, or a similar role
- Experience working on live M&A transactions
- Deep understanding of financial modeling and valuation methodologies, including business case development, multiples-based approaches, and DCFs
- Comprehensive financial acumen and ability to analyze complex financial data and make strategic recommendations
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
- Curiosity about software, AI, and the future of AI
- Strong awareness of market trends and dynamics
- Growth mindset aligned with HubSpot’s commitment to Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to synthesize complex concepts for relevant audiences
