About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide essential corporate human resource services and strategic leadership
  • Report to the Executive Director, HR & OE
  • Oversee core corporate HR functions and empower a team of four to deliver full-lifecycle corporate HR services and executive support
  • Drive enterprise HRIS strategy using SuccessFactors, process standardization, and system integration
  • Eliminate manual, paper-based processes and support seamless business growth
  • Oversee compensation structures, total rewards strategy, pension governance through the Retirement Committee, and benefit programs
  • Launch and continuously evolve Hudbay’s employer brand to position the organization as an employer of choice among mid-tier mining companies
  • Establish and govern a standardized global mobility framework covering expatriate taxation, visas, immigration, and cross-jurisdictional talent flow
  • Design and assume operational ownership of a 10-year dynamic strategic workforce planning model
  • Establish quantitative HR KPIs including time-to-fill, adoption, and subsystem maturity
  • Ensure corporate policies comply with Ontario employment legislation and mitigate enterprise risk

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 to 7+ years in a senior HR leadership role with direct accountability for corporate HR operations, total rewards, and team management
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive human resources experience, ideally within the mining, resource, or heavy industry sectors
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
  • Experience working in a requisite organization environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide HRIS implementations, preferably SuccessFactors
  • Demonstrated experience leading global mobility frameworks
  • Solid knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and compliance principles
  • Working knowledge of Payroll, SuccessFactors HRIS system, and other SuccessFactors modules
  • Skills/experience delivering generalized HR services in a global organization
  • Professional HR designation such as CHRP or CHRL is an advantage
  • Bilingual English-Spanish candidates will be given preference but this is not mandatory
  • Willingness to travel up to 10–20%
