About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as Product Owner for Humana's DevSecOps Engineering team
Drive security outcomes and build internal cybersecurity tooling for the developer community
Craft and maintain the product roadmap with team leadership
Translate strategic priorities into sequenced, actionable quarterly plans
Own quarterly and sprint-level delivery, tracking PI Objectives and course-correcting delivery risks
Maintain and prioritize the product backlog
Translate platform needs, data flows, and pipeline gating into ready-to-develop stories
Balance feature work with technical debt reduction, SaaS worker deprecation, and API bloat reduction
Hold the delivery team accountable, remove blockers, and escalate risks
Communicate the Product Security team's roadmap and supply chain security initiatives
Partner with DevSecOps engineering, leadership, compliance, governance, and downstream DevOps teams
Participate in ART Sync, PO Sync, and PI Planning ceremonies
Expand application security outcomes through automation and developer self-service tooling
Mentor others and serve as an escalation point for complex backlog and prioritization questions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of technical experience, including 3+ years of project/product leadership experience
At least 3 years of experience in application security, DevOps/DevSecOps, or as a cybersecurity practitioner
Prior software engineering experience in any of C#, .NET, JavaScript, Java, Python, or TypeScript
Demonstrated track record of owning delivery at sprint and quarterly/PI levels
Experience leading a product or development team with a lean Agile delivery mindset
Experience with CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, JIRA, or similar tools
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence engineering leadership and executive stakeholders
Understanding of developer needs, workflows, tooling, and Agile ways of working
Must reside in Louisville, KY; Dallas, TX; Fort Lauderdale or Tampa, FL; or Nashville
Office visits required
Home internet service with minimum 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds
Dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
Preferred: Exposure to Application Security, SAST/DAST/SCA tooling, or Penetration Testing
Preferred: Familiarity with Azure, AWS, GCP, and Git-based workflows
Preferred: Product Owner Certification (CSPO, SAFe POPM, or equivalent)
Preferred: 3+ years of experience working in a formal product team
Preferred: Knowledge of OWASP Top 10
