About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the accounts function end to end, ensuring accurate daily books, close by working day 5, management packs, rolling three-way forecasts and 13-week cash forecasts
  • Reconcile daily bank and card accounts across AUD, USD, EUR and other trading currencies; clear exceptions the same day
  • Enter supplier invoices and perform three-way matching for inventory purchases
  • Code indirect expenses, prepare payment-run schedules for CEO approval, and maintain supplier data, terms, prepayments and settlement timing
  • Allocate customer receipts, issue statements, prepare overdue lists and reminder correspondence, and manage customer credit limits within policy
  • Provide a weekly customer exposure dashboard to the Customer Service Manager
  • Reconcile corporate cards and expenses, prepare payroll data, and reconcile superannuation and leave balances
  • Post goods receipts and landed-cost allocations; manage stock valuation, obsolete-stock provisions and physical inventory reconciliations
  • Complete month-end reconciliations and schedules by working day 3 and close by working day 5
  • Produce monthly management packs covering P&L by brand/channel, balance sheet, cash, inventory days, DSO/DPO and narrative
  • Build annual budgets, maintain rolling 12-month three-way forecasts, own the 13-week cash forecast and lead variance analysis
  • Provide commercial insight on margins, costs, breakeven, pricing, rebates and supplier terms
  • Execute FX transactions, track open positions and revalue foreign-currency balances monthly
  • Maintain financial controls, audit trails, segregation of duties and delegation-of-authority processes
  • Prepare BAS, FBT, payroll tax, ASIC and year-end working papers for Australian accountants and manage their annual review
  • Own the NetSuite finance module, cleanse MYOB data, load opening balances, configure accounts/roles/approvals, bank feeds, searches and reports
  • Specify Power BI finance reporting and supervise AI-assisted workflows for reconciliation, collections and report drafting
  • Document recurring processes
  • Line-manage the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager and approve out-of-budget purchase orders
  • Select, onboard and lead the Senior Bookkeeper when triggered; train managers to own their numbers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Philippines-based candidate
  • Philippine CPA required
  • Minimum 8 years in accounting, including at least 3 years in a product-based business (wholesale, distribution, import, retail or manufacturing)
  • Hands-on inventory, landed-cost and multi-currency accounting experience
  • Experience working for an Australian or New Zealand business or client
  • Understanding of BAS/GST coding, superannuation, payroll tax and the 1 July–30 June financial year
  • Personally run a monthly close end to end and produced a management pack for an owner or managing director
  • Built or maintained a budget and rolling three-way model (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Experience running monthly variance reviews with operating managers
  • Hands-on NetSuite finance module experience, including AP, AR, bank reconciliation and period close
  • Strongly preferred: NetSuite migration or data-cleansing project experience
  • MYOB experience is an advantage
  • Ability to decide exceptions rather than escalate them
  • Process documentation and experience using automation or AI tools in finance work
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Comfortable presenting numbers to a CEO and management team and disagreeing in writing when warranted
  • Nice to have: NetSuite go-live and opening-balance reconciliation, NetSuite OneWorld/multi-subsidiary/consolidation, Power BI or NetSuite SuiteAnalytics, supervision of a bookkeeper or small finance team across time zones, Australian customs/Deferred GST/import documentation
