About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes
- Develop and maintain job descriptions and role requirements
- Coordinate onboarding
- Coordinate internal and external induction programs, including weekly checks and follow-ups
- Conduct offboarding where required
- Act as the first point of contact for employee issues
- Manage conflict resolution and disciplinary processes
- Provide guidance to managers on HR matters
- Foster a positive and productive workplace culture
- Support managers in setting KPIs and development plans
- Drive continuous improvement in employee performance
- Ensure compliance with Australian employment laws and regulations
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Manage workplace health and safety collaboration, with a focus on construction environments
- Maintain accurate employee records, including weekly checks and follow-ups
- Identify skill gaps and training requirements with managers
- Coordinate internal and external training programs
- Save and upload staff tickets to relevant portals and admin databases
- Oversee payroll processes and entitlements in collaboration with accounts
- Manage employee records, contracts and documentation with assistance from the formal HR professional
- Manage subcontractor documentation
- Arrange subcontractor inductions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in HR, People & Culture, recruitment, or HR administration
- Working knowledge of Australian employment practices, or willingness to learn
- Highly organised with strong follow-up and record-keeping skills
- Clear, professional English communication skills
- Proactive and able to research unfamiliar processes independently
- Comfortable using templates, portals, and admin systems
- Trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential information
- Experience in construction, infrastructure or trades environments (Preferred/Nice-to-Have)
- Familiarity with WHS and subcontractor compliance (Preferred/Nice-to-Have)
- Exposure to payroll and entitlements (Preferred/Nice-to-Have)
- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
