About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and/or develop business in the assigned territory of the Florida Panhandle, Southern Alabama, Louisiana, and Southern Mississippi
- Communicate sales progress information with the sales team and next-level managers
- Focus on distribution, specification, contractor, government agency, training, and education activities
- Maximize sales through specifications, distributors, contractors, and developers by calling on key clients
- Develop relationships, monitor major projects, and increase product exposure and success
- Contact distributor sales, operations, and specification personnel and other irrigation professionals regularly
- Create product demand to assist distribution with sales goals
- Execute customer training programs, trade shows, and promotional events
- Maintain Hunter CRM software, including Salesforce, in the assigned territory
- Perform field service and support as required
- Administer warranty policies and procedures when needed
- Recommend customer changes and inform management about territory events and relevant information
- Alert management to significant changes affecting customer business health
- Propose individual budget requirements and manage expenditures within budget
- Submit timely expense reimbursement requests
- Assist with market data collection for forecasts and reporting, including regional, competitive, contractor pricing, and area programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Applicants should reside in Mobile or Birmingham, AL, or Pensacola, FL
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or landscape architecture preferred
- Minimum 5 years equivalent industry experience preferred, within sales, installation, or a technical discipline
- Knowledge of selling, pricing, marketing, and distribution models within the industry
- Effective selling and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to attain sales goals
- Ability to explain and sell features and benefits of Hunter products and conduct training and educational programs
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Technical knowledge of company and competitor products
- Ability to perform field service, troubleshoot systems, recommend solutions, and demonstrate side-by-side product comparisons
- Knowledge of finance and budgeting processes
- Ability to manage expenses within budget
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and provide a high level of customer service and support
- Ability to travel extensively, live in a strategic location within the territory, and work flexible hours
- Basic computer skills, including Windows programs, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management
- Valid driver's license and driving record sufficient to meet company insurance requirements
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport
- Product-appropriate advanced-level technical expertise and certifications preferred
- Fluency in other languages commonly spoken within the region preferred
- Knowledge of regional business and cultural practices preferred
