About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead client PR programs from concept and planning through completion and evaluation
  • Develop and propose strategic, creative ideas and tactical elements for client programs
  • Provide strategic counsel and recommendations to clients

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow client accounts and secure incremental business
  • Develop account vision and strategic direction
  • Introduce clients to specialized agency services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.A. in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or the like
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in a public relations agency or similar position
  • Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to understand clients’ businesses and relevant industry trends
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects
  • Ability to train and mentor junior and mid-level staff
  • Ability to effectively delegate work among account teams
  • Ability to travel to client and event locations and meet with clients at their offices or headquarters
  • Strong writing, editing, presentation and interpersonal communications skills
  • Integrity and good judgment when working with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to deal constructively with client and personnel situations
  • Media expertise across traditional newsrooms, Substack newsletters, podcasts, and independent news creators
  • Sharp editorial instinct and earned media strategy expertise
