About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage assigned commercial loan and customer portfolios under direct supervision
  • Provide support to the NST Portfolio Management Team Lead, Regional Credit Officer, and Relationship Manager team
  • Assist with portfolio reporting, exposure tracking, trend analysis, and management information reporting
  • Support reviews of settlement activity, account performance, concentration risk, and portfolio quality metrics
  • Participate in portfolio reviews and special credit projects to enhance risk identification and monitoring
  • Collect, organize, and analyze financial and operational information supporting portfolio management decisions
  • Manage commercial loans and customers in partnership with Relationship Managers, the Regional Credit Officer, and stakeholders
  • Service, deepen, and retain profitable customer relationships by evaluating and mitigating business risks and opportunities
  • Work with Relationship Managers to grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue
  • Own responsibility for credit quality and monitoring of commercial portfolio risks
  • Risk-rate new credits and update risk grades in the assigned portfolio
  • Ensure underwriting quality, portfolio administration, and ongoing credit quality
  • Present proposed credit actions in written analysis and, when necessary, verbally to Regional Credit Officer and/or Senior Regional Credit Officer
  • Conduct portfolio reviews and analyze existing portfolios to identify trends and opportunities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Four-year college degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics or related business field or equivalent year's work experience
  • 1 or more years of relevant commercial/middle market credit analysis experience or underwriting experience
  • Understanding and utilization of credit skills for credit decision making, monitoring, and managing of a credit through repayment
  • 3 or more years of relevant commercial/middle market credit analysis experience or underwriting experience preferred
  • Credit analysis of Professional Services companies is a plus
  • Strong analytical ability and understanding of commercial financial analysis
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and compliance regulations for commercial loans
  • Ability to work under critical time constraints
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform highly detailed and accurate work on multiple, concurrent tasks
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey credit worthiness and recommendations
  • Thorough knowledge of Word and Excel and ability to quickly learn additional systems/software
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • MBA in Finance or Accounting preferred
