About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process and support Standby Letter of Credit transactions, including issuance, amendments, extensions, renewals, drawings, and cancellation activities
- Review standby letter of credit applications, supporting documentation, and transaction instructions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Partner with Credit, Commercial Banking, Legal, and Risk teams to execute and service standby letter of credit transactions
- Monitor key dates, expiration events, automatic renewal provisions, drawing activity, and other critical obligations
- Review complex financial, legal, and operational documentation for compliance with bank procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
- Identify discrepancies, exceptions, and potential risks and work with stakeholders to resolve issues
- Provide guidance and support regarding standby letters of credit and related trade finance products
- Develop working knowledge of documentary letters of credit, collections, and other trade finance services
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to broaden product knowledge and support team flexibility
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives supporting business growth and operational transformation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma
- 3 or more years' experience within loan operations with due diligence (reviewing credit approval and applications for compliance), document preparation and/or examination experience
- Experience processing, servicing, or supporting Standby Letters of Credit, Documentary Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, or Collections (preferred)
- Experience reviewing and processing commercial loan closing packages, credit documentation, collateral documentation, legal agreements, or other financial transaction documents (preferred)
- Knowledge of Standby Letter of Credit workflows, including issuance, amendments, renewals, drawings, and claim handling (preferred)
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and international banking operations (preferred)
- Working knowledge of International Standby Practices (ISP98), Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600), and International Standard Banking Practices (ISBP) (preferred)
- Experience supporting commercial banking clients and internal business partners (preferred)
- Interest in expanding knowledge of international trade finance products and developing broader expertise across Letters of Credit, Collections, Supply Chain Finance, and related banking services (preferred)
- Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) designation preferred but not required
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be able to work in an office workplace setting
