About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze, design, and develop systems based on user specifications.
Provide technical assistance in solving hardware or software problems.
Use technical tools for systems development and support.
Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of technical industry trends as they apply to Huntington.
Assist with identifying training needs or training less experienced staff.
Serve as project leader for specific projects when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Support analytics activation for the bank using cloud-native application practices and modern data approaches.
Deliver performant software used by all channels.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree.
7+ years of development experience using Java, building API enabled apps and event driven architecture.
Ability to write SQL queries and stored procedures.
Knowledge of databases including Oracle and Snowflake.
2+ years of production support, infrastructure engineering or administration experience.
Experience with or good working knowledge of DevSecOps.
Experience with Kubernetes or other container-based technologies, including deployment pipelines.
Learning mindset with openness to learn new technologies, build things and experiment.
Experience working on product teams and awareness of agile practices.
Cloud architect/engineer/developer certifications strongly preferred.
Experience with marketing applications or integration background preferred.
Previous architecture or tech lead experience preferred.
Deep knowledge of microservices patterns and Spring framework, including Spring Boot and Batch, preferred.
Ability to balance development and support roles preferred.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills preferred.
Excellent communication skills preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, customer service focus, and ability to work with IT, vendor, and business groups preferred.
