About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage processes ensuring credible challenge, oversight, and validation of IT risk findings, action plans, risk acceptances, and first-line risk and control assessments across the Bank
- Manage and oversee assigned second-line risks from the Risk Registry in alignment with risk appetite
- Participate in and challenge the IT Policies and Standards framework and processes
- Ensure metrics, controls, process maps, and other materials support healthy standards
- Deliver periodic IT risk updates at governance meetings
- Actively participate in the IT Risk Committee and associated sub-forums
- Deliver quarterly independent IT Risk Assessments and targeted assessments to support the Bank's IT risk profile
- Provide risk management leadership across the Bank's Information Technology and Operational risks
- Assist in determining the IT Risk Program's strategy and areas of focus
- Participate in mentorship programs aligned with colleague growth
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of work experience
- Five or more years relevant experience in a technology role, directly supporting technology processes or assets (applications/systems/etc.)
- Previous experience serving in a Governance/Risk/Compliance/Audit function is preferred
- Effective advisory and collaboration skills, and ability to drive consensus
- Advanced understanding of IT processes and associated Technology Risks and Controls
- Logical and organized problem-solving ability
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand technical information and document assessments or analyses
- Critical/strategic thinking and ability to execute risk, efficiency, and cost analyses
- Process-oriented mindset and ability to tell a story leveraging data
- Time management, organization, and prioritization ability
- Managerial courage and ability to interact effectively with various levels of leadership
- Understanding of IT risk and control frameworks such as COBIT
- In-depth knowledge of risk management processes and principles, including assessing risks, analyzing testing results, and developing remediation plans
- Strong preference for recognized industry certification such as ISACA CRISC/CISA/CISM, ISC2 CISSP/SSCP, or similar
- Candidates without the preferred certification at hire are expected to obtain certification within 12 months
- Experience working in the Financial Services industry
- KPI/KRI metrics and reporting experience
- Additional specialized qualifications may be required based on the specific position
